Steampunk is the genre to watch, says a computer. Pfft, we knew that yonks ago...

They've taken down the greatest chess minds in the world and solved some of the mightiest conundrums the universe has to offer. And now, IBM's supercomputer has come to predicting the future. Turns out the Next Big Thing is going to be.....

Steampunk.

Seriously.

Behold: "Retailers attending the National Retail Federation Convention in New York yesterday (Jan. 14) got an ear-load, and eye-load, from researchers about the next big trend steaming toward the retail industry. Based on an analysis of more than half a billion public posts on message boards, blogs, social media sites and news sources, IBM predicted that ''steampunk" will be the next major trend to bubble up and take hold of the retail industry."

We don't need a supercomputer to tell us this - we've been publishing Steampunk since Abaddon Books was born in 2005! Jonathan Green and Al Ewing have between them created the world's biggest* Steampunk series: PAX BRITANNIA!

Whether it's the adventures of silver-tongued adventurer Ulysses Quicksilver or the time-spanning epics of Pax Omega, Pax Britannia has consistently delivered the Steampunk goods with a pulpy edge.

The next big thing? Abaddon has you covered ........ in steam. Er.....

* To quote the Simpsons: "Great meaning large or immense, we use it in the pejorative sense!"
